Build Your First Game at CUQ

Build your first game. With the team that teaches it in the UK.
The games team of Ulster University (UK) is at CUQ Campus, Lusail. In one afternoon, you will play a game built to teach you design, then create your own level of it, with the people who teach this for a living guiding you table by table.
THE PROGRAMME, Thursday 13 August (check-in from 1:30 PM)
2:00 Opening: careers in games and creative technologies, with Dr Victoria McCollum
2:30 Game Feel: how great games are designed, with Brian Coyle
3:00 Play, then build: play Brian’s two-player game on real controllers, then create your own level in its editor, in teams of 2 to 4, guided by the Ulster team and industry mentors. Your level is your competition entry
4:30 Open play for everyone while the judges review the builds
5:00 Certificates for every builder, and closing photographs
Every builder receives a certificate signed by CUQ and the Ulster team. No experience, no portfolio needed.
FOR PARENTS
You are welcome through the afternoon, especially from 4:30 for the open play and awards. Our counselors are available in Arabic and English throughout: real careers in the games industry, fees, scholarships and your questions.
